Ever since the emergence of the Evil Eye trend seen on in Kenzo’s A/W 2013 collection, I’ve been obsessing over this trend. There is just something super clever about the print and design that had me drawn to it. For those of you that just aren’t too crazy about sporting a big Evil Eye across your chest on a sweatshirt, why not try this more subtle version of the Evil Eye print?
I decided to re-create this print inspired by the Kenzo collection and thought a smaller version of this iconic print would work well painted on a simple clutch as a dramatic statement piece.
Try this easy-to-follow DIY tutorial to create your own DIY Evil Eye Clutch!
- Solid color clutch (synthetic leather or canvas material would work great)
- White Acrylic or Fabric Paint if you wish to throw it in the wash
- Assorted Sharpies in Black, Gold, or Blue (optional)
- Piece of lightweight cardboard
- Cutting knife
- Paint Brush
- Mat to line your working surface
The results were fantastic. This DIY Evil Eye Clutch is also extremely easy to pair with a t-shirt and ripped jeans to create a full casual outfit. I also like that fact that you can customize as you wish by adding rhinestones, or perhaps even modifying it to one enlarged evil eye?
Thanks for checking this out and give it a try!
